Our Founders of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. were educators who saw the need for achievement through higher education. Thus, they expanded their services in the community through the awarding of college scholarships to highly talented and deserving graduating high school seniors.

 

Annually, the Beacon of Light Foundation works closely with the Scholarship Committee of Eta Xi Sigma to award scholarships to high school students in the Chicagoland Community that have excelled academically and in the civic arena. We look forward to more projects that will partner our efforts and resources to improve the community.

 

The annual scholarship award has been given every spring for the past 19 years at our Pre-Mother’s Day Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show. Award recipients are selected from area high school applicants who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship and service to their respective communities.
